Honeycomb is delighted to be partnering with a charitable organisation in the recruitment of their permanent, full time, Home Manager, at £43,764, based fully on site in Newcastle, County Down.

Your Role:
This role is fundamental to ensuring smooth running of the care home. Some main responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the daily care & well-being of residents inc. ensuring safe storage of medication & medical records
- Regular assessment & monitoring of resident's progress, reviewing care plans, providing feedback to residents, relatives and allied professionals
- Maintaining accurate, up to date records of care, ensuring confidential storage
- Ensuring that in-house programmes & activities are delivered to meet the physical, social, emotional & spiritual needs of the residents
- Organising regular resident's meetings
- Interviewing & assessing prospective residents both permanent and for respite care
- Responsible for staff management practices within the Home, including recruitment & selection, staff procedures i.e. disciplinaries, absence, complaints etc.
- Holding regular staff meetings, ensuring good communication & work practices
- Key role in the overall work of the Council, attending meetings, working groups etc.
- Organise & participate in the Home's emergency call arrangements
- Encourage & support volunteers
- Promote & market the Home within the wider community e.g. undertaking speaking engagements, articles, website etc.
- Submitting reports to the Regional Care Manager monthly
- Responsible for communications with residents families, next of kin & other professional staff involved
- Maintenance requirements & dealing with general enquires about the Home
- Managing the Home within approved budgets, preparing rotas, monthly reports, ordering supplies, collection of fees & keeping financial records updated
- Ensuring all residents receive the appropriate pastoral care
- Oversee the day support facility, forwarding plans for people living locally
- Adjusting the service provision to meet the changing needs of residents i.e. dementia provision
Your Experience:
- Min 4 years' experience working in a health & social care setting & 2 years' experience within operational management in a similar health & social care setting
- Desired to hold relevant qualifications within Health & Social Care Management if the above criteria is not met at min Level 5 alongside practical experience
- Experience improving service quality and staff management
- Must either hold a social work qualification or be a registered nurse/registered with the Health Professions Council
- Strong interpersonal skills, caring and committed approach
- Good written communication
- Ability to motivate and work as part of a team, alongside being a leader
- Highly organised, adaptable and flexible approach
- Ability to take initiatives in proposals for developing aspects of the work
- Must be available for flexible working including occasional evening/weekend as required, adaptable in responding to emergency calls
