Honeycomb has partnered with an incredible charity based in Derry/Londonderry in the recruitment of a part time, 20 hours, Finance Administrator at £23,500 - £24,500 pro rata.

The purpose of this charity is to eliminate domestic abuse and sexual violence through raising awareness, preventive educational advice and support. Their vision is to create a centre of excellence that leads in partnership, working to develop and sustain non-violent healthy communities.

What would a typical day look like for you?

This is a key role within the team, you will be providing financial administration support and assisting with other administrative tasks on an ad hoc basis. Some main responsibilities include:

  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining and recording transactions on Sage 50 Accounts, petty cash, inputting invoice information
  • Payments of outstanding invoices, ensuring receipts are received/properly filled
  • Recording money received by cash/cheque, making bank lodgements
  • Assisting with financial monitoring of funded projects
  • Supporting on the completion and evidencing of financial returns to funding bodies
  • Liaising with auditors as required
  • Providing administration support within the office, ordering goods, maintaining stock, recording of project stat information
  • Adhering to GDPR and confidentiality at all times

Person Specification

  • 1-2 years relevant experience within a finance related department or administrative role which involved finance responsibilities (invoicing, bank reconciliations)
  • Maths & English GCSE
  • Microsoft Office experience, Excel use
  • Good use of systems used within finance/ability to learn
  • Excellent organisation skills, high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with colleagues, external suppliers and others
