Honeycomb is delighted to be assisting a public sector client with an immediate Compliance Officer (Land and Mapping GIS) Temporary contract. Hybrid to Bangor, Co.Down locality The Client - This large organisation operates with responsible oversight of land management as part of it's functionality. In accordance to applicable legislation, they must ensure that geographical management of land is compliant throughout all relative reporting. With a current requirement for a subject matter specific compliance officer until March 2025 (at which point will be reviewed). The post holder is responsible for providing a range of professional services in relation to the transfer, letting, disposal and acquisition of land across the organisation. The Role - Reporting to the Compliance Manager, this role will focus on the following scope
  • Research, compile and preserve maps/ other records of public rights-of-way throughout the relevant geographical area.
  • Liaise with landowners and the public in the research and collection of evidence necessary for the investigation into requests to assert of Public Rights of Way.
  • Assist in advising service users on registration matters relating to Access to the Countryside Order (NI) 1983.
  • Draft the necessary report for the Corporate Committee
  • Develop, implement, monitor and review standards of performance, budgets, targets, policies and systems of work.
  • Prepare briefs, correspondence and presentations as required.
The Person
  • Level 6 qualification or relevant degree
  • 2 years demonstrable experience dealing in land and/or property issues.
  • A broad understanding of governance and legal matters, including managing requests for leases, licences and use of land.
  • Report writing to a senior management team.
  • Good current working knowledge of Word and Excel software packages
Desirable:
  • Use of Land Registry, Land Web, Registry of Deeds and GIS.
